It's truly been a week of good news for ARK’s Mentor-Educate-Reinforce program!
Announced in the Cayman Compass today, Cayman's ARK is one of eight organizations chosen to receive $25,000 from Dart.
We are pleased to announce that because of the generous sponsorship of individual donors (including some of Cayman's own young people and the 2019 CIS graduates), Dart's grant and the 100+ Women Who Care donation, we will be able to expand the MER program to more children at George Town Primary this coming fall in partnership with the Cayman Learning Center.
Our discussions with Special Needs Education Coordinators indicate that one in every five children in Cayman's government schools is struggling, and cannot access their grade level curriculum. That adds up to a lot of kids who could benefit from a "fuel injection" of professional learning intervention to overcome their learning disabilities. And it’s no surprise that all of the schools we've talked to are eager to have a program like MER.
If you are interested in supporting this innovative approach, please get in touch, we’d love to talk!
